Darts shirt 180 for everyone whose three darts in the triple 20 make not only the crowd roar but, it seems, the board itself break. On the front a big dart hits a dartboard so hard that it bursts into geometric shards, and behind the hit the number 180 stands huge. The picture is designed in the style of old posters from the 1920s: clean areas, hard edges, strong colors and a slightly grainy print texture.
The board carries the familiar colors, black and cream segments with the double and triple rings alternating red and green. Its wide black outer ring shows as an arc at the upper left and on the right and breaks off at the sides. The dart comes in from the top right: its flights are red and petrol blue with a salmon-colored panel, and the slim dark shaft runs diagonally down to the left into the middle of the board. From there sharp splinters shoot out in every direction, red, petrol blue, mint green and cream, as if the hit were blowing the whole picture apart.
The 180 sits large behind and between the shards. The 1 on the left is petrol blue at the top and bottom and black in the middle, the 8 in the middle almost merges with the segments of the board, and the 0 on the right is black at the top and sides, with a large mint green lower curve, red inside and petrol blue in its right stroke. You do not read the number at first glance; you discover it, and that is exactly the appeal: from a distance you see the board first, then the dart, and only at the end the number that explains it all. At the bottom more fragments fly away: a large red one with a rounded corner on the left, a petrol blue and a red triangle on the right.
On the back the story goes on, only brighter. A dart assembled entirely from geometric pieces flies from the top left toward a target on the right whose rings in orange, ochre, mint and cream fall apart. The flights are made of triangles in orange, ochre and mint. Small triangles in mint, ochre, orange and cream lie scattered like confetti, together with small circles, a mint trail dissolves into fine dust at the bottom, and abstract ornaments of circles and zigzag lines sit between the rings. The back is deliberately freer and more playful than the front.
This darts shirt 180 is worn by players who like their game loud and graphic, by league teams that want to stand out at away matches and by everyone who loves darts and also has a soft spot for poster art. It suits league night, a tournament at the local pub, the World Championship party over New Year and everyday life just as well. As a gift it works for a birthday, for Christmas, for a first 180 of one's own or for the friend who seems to blow the board apart every club night.
The design has no background of its own; the shirt color fills every gap between the shards and becomes part of the picture. The premium shirt is printed only after you order, front and back, and the manufacturer describes it as heavy with a relaxed fit. If you want a darts shirt that looks like an art poster rather than a fan shop, this one puts the board in shards on your chest and the dart made of splinters on your back.
