This snowboarder shirt captures the moment that makes every early winter alarm worth it: a rider takes off, a snowy summit lies below, and a cloud of powder bursts into the air behind him. The design is big and bold, with dark outlines, dense hatching and only a few colors: orange, a bright sky blue, deep dark blue and plenty of white. There is no lettering anywhere; the picture tells the whole story on its own.
The rider is seen at an angle from the front, in mid-air. He wears an orange jacket with the hood resting at the back of his neck, light blue pants, a dark helmet and goggles with an orange-tinted lens. A dark gaiter covers his nose and mouth, and a dark backpack sits on his back. One arm reaches far out to the upper right; with the other hand he dips into the swirling snow at the lower left. His knees are pulled up, and the one boot we can see is caked with snow. The board shows its base: it runs at a slant from lower left to upper right, the tip at the upper right is blue, orange streaks sweep across the middle, and a light line traces the edge.
Behind him the powder rises in a wide band from the lower left: white, billowing clumps with blue shadows, with stray chunks flying off to the left. At the upper left, light blue and white streaks mark the flight path, so you can almost feel the speed. At the lower right a sharp peak rises, its faces deep blue and white, and on some rock walls a warm orange glows as if the sun were just catching them. A jagged ridge with smaller points runs off to the lower left, and a few clumps of snow fly off to the right of the summit. The bottom edge of the picture breaks into sharp points like ice, so the mountain stands free without any frame.
Pick the back as a print area too and a whole crew appears there: three snowboarders ride staggered through deep powder, the smallest and farthest at the upper right, the second in the middle on the left, the largest at the front on the right. Their track swings in an arc from the upper right across to the left and back down to the lower right. The top rider wears a blue jacket and dark pants; the middle one wears an orange jacket and spreads both arms while his board disappears in the snow. The front rider swaps the colors of the rider on the chest, blue jacket and orange pants, and his board carries the same blue with orange streaks. All three wear dark helmets, orange-tinted goggles and backpacks, and one big cloud of snow ties them together. The sleeves can each carry a range of sharp, snowy peaks with orange-lit faces, mirrored left and right.
Who wears a design like this? The friend who heads to the mountains every free weekend in winter. The colleague who is already checking the snow reports in October. The crew that has gone on a winter trip together for years and will spot themselves in the three riders on the back. As a gift the snowboarder shirt works for Christmas, for a birthday, for the weeks of waiting before the first trip of the season, or as a reminder of a powder day you will talk about for a long time. And if you have never stood on a board but love mountains, snow and winter scenes, this is a design with plenty of energy for you too.
On the chest of this snowboarder shirt the airborne rider sits large and centered and is always printed; the three riders on the back and the mountain ranges on the sleeves join it only when you add those two areas to your order. White and orange shine brightest on dark fabric, while light shirts let the dark outlines and the blue hold the picture together. Cotton is the base; in the heathered tones it is blended with polyester, a small share in some of them and up to about half in others. Printing is digital and only starts once your order comes in.
