Ski t-shirt for everyone who would rather sit in the lodge after the last lift than stand at the bar. On the chest a small log cabin stands in deep snow, drawn like an old travel poster. Behind it the peaks glow orange and pink in the last evening light, and in front of it two old wooden skis lean against the wall. The picture is shaped like a medallion open at the top: the mountains rise freely into the sky, and a rounded arc of snow closes the design at the bottom.
The cabin is built from dark logs, with a wide gable roof under thick snow. On the left a fieldstone chimney rises from the roof, wearing its own cap of snow. A lantern hangs under the gable and casts warm light on the door. The door is made of planks and has a small window with four panes at the top. To the left and right two large mullioned windows glow yellow, with snow on the sills. To the right of the door the wooden skis lean against the wall, slim and pointed, with old bindings, and to their left stands a single ski pole. In front of the cabin the snow lies in drifts, with a low, blue-shaded bank of snow before the door.
Snowy spruces stand around the cabin, a large one on each side and a dark forest behind them that stretches to the foot of the mountains. The peaks are the highlight: a tall spire in the middle, flanked by smaller points, their sunlit faces in warm orange and pink, the way they only look in the minutes after sunset. The Alps have a word for that moment, alpenglow, and anyone who has watched it from a lodge terrace recognizes it at once. The style follows the old Alpine travel posters: a few flat colors, clear edges and a strong contrast between the cool blue of snow and forest and the warm yellow of the windows. There is no resort name, no village and no logo, so everyone can see their own cabin in it.
You can add the back when you order. There the whole panorama opens up: a great peak in the alpenglow, surrounded by more summits, a valley full of pale pink haze, snowy spruces and snow-covered boulders in the foreground. The cabin itself is not repeated there, so front and back complement each other. Each sleeve can carry a pair of crossed vintage ski poles with wooden shafts, brown grips, straps and round baskets dusted with snow.
Who is this ski t-shirt for? The family that drives to the same lodge every year. The ski instructor dreaming of next season in the summer. The friend who orders pancakes at après-ski rather than schnapps. As a gift for skiers it suits Christmas, a birthday or the run-up to a winter holiday. It is made for the drive up, the lodge, the parlor and the evenings after, and for every day of the year you think about the mountains. On dark shirts the snow, window light and alpenglow shine brightest.
About the shirt: it is made of cotton; heathered colors are blends, with anywhere from a trace of polyester up to half. Digital printing starts only after you order. The cabin on the chest is always included; the panorama and the ski poles are added if you choose the back and sleeves as extra print areas. The chest design sits centered and runs from the collar to just below the middle of the shirt.
