The plumage is drawn in dark ink with red and orange highlights that look as if they were still dripping. Under the bird, in bold frayed brush lettering, stands the German saying Ein Korn fürs wilde Huhn: a Korn for the wild chicken, Korn being the clear grain schnapps poured at every German party. The lettering switches between white, red and sun yellow and looks as if someone had painted it onto a house wall with a wide bristle brush.
The saying is short and clear: whoever is wild tonight gets a Korn. No proverb, no paraphrase, just the announcement for the evening. The rooster with the sunglasses was drawn for this saying in several passes: first the silhouette, then the ink edges, then the colour splashes, until the picture stays strong on dark shirts such as charcoal and sapphire and glows like a poster on yellow. Nothing here comes from a clipart folder; the feathers, the reflection in the lenses and the lettering are original drawing.
The design is printed on a quality cotton shirt with a soft feel and clean drape.
